What we’ve done

The Jackson Heights Green Alliance (JHGA) is a 501(c)(3) community-based organization that advocates for increased open space in Jackson Heights, New York.

Founded in 2007 by a group of residents concerned about the lack of park space in the neighborhood, the JHGA has since launched several initiatives, including the 78th Street Play Street, the Grow-A-Park campaign, and created the 78th Street Public Plaza.

As a member of the Fairness Coalition of Queens, the JHGA was instrumental in preventing MLS from building a stadium in Flushing Meadows-Corona Park, as well as mandating that the USTA contribute to the park in many ways, including paying towards the maintenance, and offering Community Tennis Programs.
